2013 Summer Season Recap
The Black Rhinos had unprecedented success in the Summer of 2014. The team once again started preparing in the month of June for two of the countries top team camps, Champ Camp in Baltimore, MD and Battle of the Hotbeds in Baltimore, MD. After a great week of training camp led by OES’s coach Sullivan, the team looked forward to challenging themselves against the east coasts finest. Coach Corcoran and Coach Packy led the boys at Champ Camp to a 8-3 record, and a amazing 8 game winning streak. The BR’s took a day off and headed to the Battle of the Hotbeds next. There they put together an amazing four days that finished in the tournament semi-finals, the furthest a western team has ever gone with a 8-2 record. In addition to the great weekend, five Black Rhino players were placed on the All-Star team, Ryan Close (West Linn HS 2016), Colin Squires (West Linn HS 2016), Locke Rohan (Lincoln HS 2015), Joel Schwarz (Lakeridge HS 2015) and Jack Gross (Lincoln HS 2014).
