Follow the links to the left for specific program details!
Rhino’s Boot Camp training program gives players the opportunity to improve their athleticism while also working to increase a players stick skills. Incorporated into the boot camp training is Rhino’s unique and original Root B 22 Training system. Root B 22 was developed by Ryan Powell as a way for players to improve their stick skills, hand-eye coordination, balance and agility not just at the same time but in a fun, fast paced and unique environment. This program gives players an opportunity to enhance the core elements of their game in way that will improve on field performance. Also involved in the training program is a SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, Quickness) component. There will a point during each session where we put down the sticks and players will work to develop their athletic abilities through the proven techniques of SPARQ Training.
If you are looking to take your individual skills to the next level Rhino’s Boot Camp Training sessions will get you there!
Increase Speed, Quickness, and Agility
The difference between good and great on the field? Speed. Proper movement techniques – the kind that can take up to .2 seconds or more off your 40-yard dash – determine who makes it to the goal first. But fast is nothing without finesse. This training blends proper movement technique with agility exercises to improve coordination, multi-directional movement, timing, and stick-handling ability.
Become a Stronger Defender
When you’re up against the clock, defense is everything. Training can help you increase your explosive power, maximal strength, and strength endurance. This leads to increased closing speed, enhanced checking skills, and the ability to mark your opponent deep in the third period.
The key to the game? Getting the shot in the net. But great goals aren’t made by muscle alone. We will we make sure you do more than lift weights; our training programs emphasize movement, function, and strength for results that go beyond building muscle. The result? Increased muscle recruitment, improved balance, and wicked rotational power shots that fly past the goalie.
Reduce the Likelihood of Injury
You can’t play the game if you’re sitting on the bench. We’ll help you stay in play with mobility development, rehabilitation exercises, and movement analysis. Reduce the likelihood of injury with “Prehabilitation,” a specialized program that helps decrease the incidence of acute and overuse injuries.
WHAT IS SPARQ?
It’s a short question, with a not-so-short answer.
First, the easy part. SPARQ is an acronym, standing for Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness. Simple enough. But what does that mean?
It means that SPARQ’s mission is to help athletes improve in all of those areas through focused, dynamic training. If they improve their overall athleticism, there is no question they will improve their game.
You’re already fast? SPARQ can make you faster. You’ve never made the team? SPARQ will help you make the cut. Because we believe strongly that, while not every person is a born athlete, through training every person can become a complete athlete.
The result is a more complete athlete – blazing speed, explosive power, fluid agility, innate reaction and jump-start quickness.
So, what was the question again? What is SPARQ?
SPARQ is the difference between being a player and being an athlete.
