Q & A

Q. Describe your style of play in one sentence?
A.  My style is powerful, efficient and productive.

Q. Name one lacrosse player you would pay to watch play?

A. Billy Marachek (Tommy’s 52 year old brother). All back-hand, all net, all day.

Q. Best player you have ever played with and when?
A.  How could I name just one?
Tim O’Hara (Blue Collar Lacrosse, Cornell Univ.)
Ryan Painter (Blue Collar Lacrosse, Victoria, B.C.)
Brian Silcott (Portland LC)
Dennis Sullivan (Portland LC)
John Tamerlano (Portland LC)

Q. How did you get into lacrosse?
A.  A few family friends got me playing when I was in about 7th grade.  I got pretty good and I was hooked.

Q. What is your current stick you play with? (head, shaft, pocket)
A: A ten year-old Brine “Edge”, with a worn out old Brine F-15 shaft and a hard mesh pocket that I strung myself.  I’ve played with and strung my own traditional pockets for my whole career until I started coaching in the rain and falling behind on my stick maintenance.  For those of you too young to know what I’m talking about, Traditional = Old School.

Q. What do you think is your best quality/skills you will bring to Rhino Lacrosse?
A: A great rapport with young players from a variety of backgrounds as well as a unique perspective on life and the many ways that lacrosse can help enrich it.  I also like to inject just a bit of discipline into those lazy summertime workouts!
Oh, and I can shoot like the dickens.  I’ll show you how.

Q. What are you most proud of?
A.  The friends I’ve made.  My music.  My overtime goals!

Q. What do you look forward to most about lacrosse camp this summer?
A.  Meeting new players and passing on to them the things that some great coaches taught me.  Not to mention getting a great tan and RP’s autograph.
