Q & A:
What is your favorite lacrosse moment?
My Freshman year at Radford, we played UVA on the road at Klockner Stadium under the lights on a Friday night. My best friend from High School, Towns Middleton, played for UVA and we were often on the field at the same time guarding each other as midfielders. Here’s the kicker…….our high school coach, Doug Tarring, was refereeing the game! I’ll never forget that night. My poor riding skills even led Towns to an assist.
Who is your biggest lacrosse mentor?
Doug Tarring and Michael Woodfolk
What comes to mind when you think Ryan Powell and Rhino Lacrosse?
Fun with Friends
Can you tell us what you currently do with yourself and what do you spend your time doing?
I work in Portland’s commercial and feature film industry as a VTR operator, teleprompter operator, and camera operator. I enjoy coaching lacrosse at RHINO and Sunset Varsity Lacrosse while enjoying many adventures outdoors in the great Pacific Northwest
If you had to come up with a goal for you and your lacrosse career, what would it be?
When I step over the lines and onto the playing field, I go to war. I envision myself like an Iroquois warrior going into battle. Always staying humble, always trying to get better, and always honoring the game.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise others?
My left shoulder pops out of joint easily….like Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapon movie series. Straight Jacket anyone???
