Ryan, the Only Powell Brother Without a Gold Medal, Has One Last Chance at World Championships This Week

Ball after ball scooted toward Canadian sticks, then got dumped into the American goal. It was the fourth quarter of the final game in the 2006 lacrosse world championships and as the seconds spun off the clock the Americans stared in disbelief. They had lost.

From the stands, Larry Powell watched his three sons find each other on the field, bowing their heads in defeat.
